Long Bio

With over 38 years of dedicated service in law enforcement, I currently hold the position of Captain at the Texas Comptroller's Office, where my top priority is ensuring the safety of Harris County. In my unwavering commitment to this cause, I extend my full support to the hardworking men and women in law enforcement.

During my extensive tenure with the Houston Police Department (HPD), I worked in a variety of roles and departments, including street patrol, narcotics, vice, internal affairs, and dignitary protection detail.  During all of this, I exemplified integrity and excellence in various roles, each contributing to my comprehensive understanding of law enforcement.

Now, as a candidate for Sheriff of Harris County, my goal is to bring tangible benefits to the community. Through strategic leadership, community engagement, and a focus on public safety, I aim to mitigate crime, deter recidivism, and regain control of the Harris County Jail. By fostering a secure and thriving community, I strive to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of Harris County residents.

Campaign Logo

  • When using our primary logo, please use all elements.

  • Do not adjust spacing between these elements either. The relationships have been carefully designed to ensure optimal, consistent presentation every time.

More than anything else, be sure not to use colors that aren’t ours. For reference, we use:

  • Red: C18 M100 Y90 K8

  • Blue: C99 M96 Y3 K1

  • White: C0 M0 Y0 K0

Logo Positioning

When using our logo, always position it centered inside whatever area contains it. For instance, if it appears inside a rectangle, the logo should be equidistant from the sides on left and right, and top and bottom.

Logo Freeform Positioning

If no shape contains the logo, position it in the top left area by default. Sometimes, positioning it at the bottom left may make more sense. The guiding principle is visual counterbalance. Either way, allow generous padding from the edges near the logo.

Our primary colors are red, white, and navy blue.

Altered Colors

When presenting our brand, do not change the brand color palette. Use only Vergil's already defined colors.

Our colors were chosen to play well together as a palette. Using our brand’s colors consistently helps us present ourselves consistently to those who interact with our campaign.
